Project Tour: Lewis Builds Construction

Website

A scalable content architecture for a construction firm with a singular methodology.

Lewis Builds is a standard-bearer in the construction industry. They have a tried and true process and established credibility across industries. The firm just needed a website that expressed that consistency and enabled growth.

The governance challenge was coherence across difference: how do you build a content system that lets each industry vertical speak specifically to its audience, while making the consistent Lewis Builds methodology visible and credible across all of them?

I approached this through a two-layer content architecture. The first layer established the firm-level foundation. A set of pages define Lewis Builds' capabilities, values, and approach in terms that held true across every project type. This wasn't a generic "about us." It was the unifying narrative that every industry page referenced and built from. The second layer was a scalable landing page framework for industry-specific stories. Each one able to speak in the language of that audience, showcase relevant projects, and address sector-specific concerns, while remaining structurally consistent with every other vertical page.

The project portfolio was centralized and standardized: a unified archive with streamlined filters, and project page templates built from a kit-of-parts that allowed each project to tell its own story while maintaining the quality and consistency of the collection as a whole.

Critically, the framework was designed to scale without me. As Lewis Builds enters new markets or grows existing verticals, the content system gives their team clear patterns to follow. New industry pages can be built from the established framework, new projects can be added to the portfolio without rebuilding the taxonomy, and the governing methodology remains coherent no matter how the firm grows.

What the governance layer made possible: Lewis Builds can expand into a new industry vertical and produce a credible, on-brand landing experience using the framework — without starting from scratch or drifting from the firm identity. The content system is a growth tool, not a snapshot.
